Established by Carroll Shelby, the Shelby Automotive Museum is a non-profit organization created to educate the public about Carroll Shelby’s influence in the auto industry. The Museum will house high performance cars created and built by the many people who poured out their hearts and souls to make great American cars, such as the 1965 Shelby Cobra “Daytona” Coupe that won the FIA World Manufacturers’ Championship on the European Circuit in 1965…and to this day is the only American company to have ever accomplished such a feat. Beating Enzo Ferrari and his long domination of this circuit was one of Carroll Shelby’s dreams. The Museum will reflect America’s spirit of competition, and will exemplify what good old-fashioned hard work can accomplish. The Museum will be located at the Shelby facilities in Gardena, Calif., where Mr. Shelby spent much of the past 40 years, including his final years, planning the future of the organizations he founded.
